The Inspiration Behind Ghosty Glow

The idea behind Ghosty Glow was simple: create a lamp that feels cute, minimal, and slightly whimsical.

Instead of a traditional lampshade design, I imagined a friendly ghost quietly glowing on a desk or bedside table. The shape flows smoothly from top to bottom, giving the lamp a soft and calming appearance while also helping diffuse light evenly.

The small eye cut-outs add character to the design and allow a bit of extra light to shine through, making the lamp feel alive.

Designed Using 3D Modeling

Ghosty Glow was designed using 3D modeling software, where the focus was on both aesthetic appeal and functionality.

Key design considerations included:

• Smooth flowing curves for a natural look
• Thin walls to allow soft light diffusion
• A stable base for everyday use
• Minimal assembly for a clean final product

The result is a lamp that looks simple but has carefully designed geometry to create the perfect glow.

The 3D Printing Process

One of the most exciting parts of this project was bringing the design to life using 3D printing technology.

The lamp is printed using PLA filament, a material widely used in 3D printing for its durability and clean finish.

Printing details:

• Approximately 180 grams of filament used
• Around 5 hours of printing time
• Fine layer lines that add a subtle textured finish

Instead of removing the layer lines, they were kept intentionally because they highlight the handmade nature of 3D printed products.

Soft Ambient Lighting for Any Room

Once assembled with a light source, Ghosty Glow transforms into a soft ambient lamp perfect for:

• Bedroom night lighting
• Desk decor
• Cozy room lighting
• Unique home decor pieces

The translucent body spreads light gently throughout the lamp, creating a warm and relaxing glow.
